What is AELAS? Arizona State Reporting Made Easy

July 31, 2023 at 7:42 AM

The Arizona Education Learning and Accountability System (AELAS) is Arizona's state longitudinal data system for K-12 education, overseen by the Arizona Department of Education (ADE). Its main objective is to gather and analyze data related to public education at various levels, including individual, course, institution, and system data. AELAS integrates data from different education collection systems in Arizona and is part of a larger nationwide initiative aimed at recording detailed education information over time to capture students' complete learning experiences.

The ultimate goal of AELAS is to make this comprehensive education data available for analysis and consideration in public policy. Its intended outcomes are to improve student learning at all levels of education, from elementary to higher education, and to enhance labor market prospects for individuals and society as a whole.

This is where Level Data comes in!
